One of the keys to growing the U.S. economy is helping manufacturers "make it in America" and sell it overseas, said U.S. Rep. Maurice Hinchey, D-Hurley.
Hinchey on Thursday toured a City of Poughkeepsie manufacturer, MPI Inc., which makes wax injection machines used by other companies that make a wide range of metal consumer and industrial products.
MPI currently sells about 73 percent of its equipment to customers in other nations, including China. It employs 31 people and recently expanded its Smith Street plant.
